The experience ensures that teachers are able to achieve extraordinary results from an educational point of view. In fact, the ear of a student, who thinks he knows everything about music and sound, subjected to this type of intensive intervention that takes place within the course, improves his perception of the sound of a percentage that goes from 70% to '80%.

The course takes place in a film mix studio, where the youngsters engage in a real production and post-production process, touching live all the phases described.

The objectives of the course for video-audio makers

The sound is one of the most precious and least known among those available to the video maker. The object of the course is therefore the identity of the sound in its relationship with the assembled image, starting from the cinema and more generally in the narrative audiovision.

The sound of cinema tends to reproduce the typical characteristics of human acoustic perception and of the listening dimension. It reproduces them but does not duplicate them as for cloning.

In which way does it reproduce them? Through a selection and simplification process that reduces the three (plus one) categories for reasons that are both conceptual and practical: dialogue-effects-music (plus the relational dimension of silence).

With the aid of the audiovisual analysis of some exemplary cinematographic sequences, the students approach the comprehension of the characteristics and specific values ​​of the sound when it is in a structural relationship with the assembled image, in the narrative reconstruction of a reality, of a " world". The continuous and discreet of the sound chain, the off-field mechanism, the double vectoriality of sound / image, the synchronous and the desynchronization, the extensibility of the sound field, the frequencies involved in the construction process of a soundtrack: these are some of the focal points dealt with in a course that aims to stabilize in the participants a basic awareness about the composition of the sound universe that accompanies the "visible" of the cinema.

The lessons will take place in a practical way and with the use of the appropriate technical equipment.
